Health Unit Coordinator - 0.01 FTE Variable

The Health Unit Coordinator is a key person within the nursing unit, who provides overall administrative and technical assistance and support in the operation of the assigned nursing unit; and collaborates with other staff and leaders in the development, oversight, and operation of the unit. This position is the hub of all communication to and from the nursing unit; and greatly impacts the "tone" of the unit/shift.

Health Unit Coordinator - 0.01 FTE Variable

Required qualifications:

• Coursework/Training and Medical terminology course. Or equivalent educ/experience
• 1 year of experience performing secretarial duties in healthcare, or equivalent training in a recognized healthcare program.
• Experience with a variety of software applications.

Preferred qualifications:

• 1 year post high school education.   
• Satisfactory completion of health unit coordinator coursework. Or equivalent educ/experience
• Upon hire: National Certification Health Unit Coordinator
• Experience as a preceptor/role model.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
