Role Purpose
The Strategic Sourcing Procurement Lead is responsible for managing critical supplier and commodity relationships to ensure the reliable supply of quality materials and services at the lowest total cost. This role partners closely with business development, program management, engineering, and manufacturing teams to drive sourcing strategies, supplier performance, quality improvement, risk mitigation, and effective contract negotiations. The position requires strong technical understanding, sound business judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions to support operational and strategic objectives.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in cross-functional initiatives focused on process improvement, cost reduction, and supplier quality.
- Serve as the plant buyer, managing the full supplier lifecycle from RFQ through contract execution and invoice resolution.
- Apply supplier relationship management processes to drive continuous improvement and strengthen overall supply chain performance.
- Use commodity and sourcing expertise to support supplier identification, qualification, development, and transition to new or alternate sources.
- Negotiate, execute, and administer supplier contracts while ensuring alignment with business needs and ethical practices.
- Manage supplier relationships to meet customer requirements through collaboration, problem-solving, and effective negotiations.
- Support supply management strategy development and deployment while contributing to key Performance Excellence and cost reduction projects.

Education and Experience- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, or related roles
- Technical knowledge of print reading, dimensional interpretation, and general engineering principles
- Experience in contract negotiation, drafting, and administration
- Experience managing multiple priorities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Desired Skills:
- Technical knowledge or experience with precision machining, microwave connectors, and metal alloys
- Experience supporting government contracts and compliance requirements
- Lean, Six Sigma, or Performance Excellence training and project experience; Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
- CPSM or APICS certification preferred
- Project management skills

The range for this position is $82,710.00 - $113,727.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including
