Position Summary
Provides oversight of the intake, analysis, and prioritization of all CPS Energy investments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic objectives. Responsibilities may include leading the project management and evaluation of financial projects, performing budgeting and financial analysis, completing complex financial reports and/or performing accounting research, to include documenting findings. This successful candidate will possess strong analytical, financial, and project management skills, demonstrating expertise in capital investment processes, business case development, and navigating dynamic business environments. They should be proficient in handling complex data and prioritizing multiple initiatives effectively.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Investment Analysis & Prioritization – oversee the intake and evaluation of CPS Energy investments while maintaining and refining investment criteria for alignment with strategic goals.
- Financial Data Analysis & Reporting - performs analysis on large volumes of historical and current data to identify trends, anomalies and areas for operational efficiency improvements, while providing insight and recommendations for decision making.
- Business Case Development & Due Diligence – act as subject matter expert for investment business cases, supporting internal customers in crafting and refining business cases.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Strategic Guidance – work with internal stakeholders to align and monitor investments with CPS Energy’s broader strategy. Providing insight to adapt to changing priorities and economic conditions.
- Capital Prioritization Tool Management – manage the tool used for ranking and prioritization. Oversee reporting from the tool to allow for ongoing collaboration.
- Performs other duties and serves on special project teams as assigned.

- Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or Hyperion.
- Experience with the electric or gas utility industry gained through experience at an electric / gas utility, an investment bank, consultant, or other professional service provider serving the industry.
- Experience the capital investment processes and business case development while navigating dynamic business environments.
