SUMMARY
Our Banquets Team is looking for an intern for the 2026 summer season. This internship will get exposure to the world of banquets and conferences, giving the intern the opportunity to coordinate, plan, and when ready, lead the occasional banquet service. The intern will also be responsible for assisting with general administrative office duties. Event and Conference Management, Food Service Management, and Hospitality majors are encouraged to apply.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reviews assigned catering BEOs to become acquainted with group needs and banquet specifications
• Maintains open lines of communication with departments to ensure effective operations
• Assists managers with data entry of banquet revenue and daily server gratuities
• Inputs BEOs in MICROS to assist Assistant Banquet Managers
• Helps maintain employee files and subject files
• Responds to telephones inquiries and records messages
• Assist with the set up of banquet functions per the Banquet Event Orders when needed
• At times execute food and beverage service before, during and after banquet functions
• Maintain storage area levels and cleanliness
• Checks assigned banquet room to ensure that it has been properly set up and equipped. Identifies incomplete/incorrect set ups, brings to the attention of higher level authority.
• Breakdown after the completion of functions and ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored properly when needed
• Communicates guest requests to appropriate areas via two-way radio
• Attends pre-meal and inter-departmental meetings to exchange information and receive instruction regarding subsequent catering events
• Checks periodically with host/hostess to ensure that function is progressing satisfactorily; takes corrective action necessary to ensure success of function
• Responsible for photocopying and distributing daily and weekly Banquet Event Orders throughout office
• Good rapport with fellow employees and reflect positive attitude
• Report to work on time, in uniform and with proper tools
• Complete all assignments requested of you
• Maintain open line of communication with supervisor
• To create food and beverage menu signs for functions per BEO
• Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort
• Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Must be currently enrolled at a University, College, or Community College and receive college credit for the internship
• 1 year experience in food and beverage preferred
• Previous office experience a plus
ADDITIONAL INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
• Attend bi-weekly intern meetings
• Complete internship projects
• Work a flexible schedule, 30-40+ hours per week
• Weekend availability
• Some events may require working late shifts

• Ability to answer and use a phone in a professional manner
• Ability to use a computer
• Able to multi-task

COMMENTS
Native American Preference will apply. Must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug screen as a condition of employment. Must be able to work flexible hours and take on additional responsibilities when asked. Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality.
