PMC is looking for a full time, day shift Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA).  The position of Surgical First Assistant reports to the Clinical Supervisor Surgical Services in the Surgery department/unit at Providence Medical Center. The mission of the Surgery Department is to provide a 24/7 high touch, high tech and efficient environment for our patients requiring elective, urgent or emergent surgical intervention.  We offer amazing employee benefits:

Responsibilities

We want a Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) who is empathetic and has good communication skills. We have a collaborative culture focused on positive outcomes, opportunities for professional growth and so much more.  Our Certified First Assist duties include but are not limited to:

  • assist surgeons with tasks such as making incisions, placing clamps, and closing surgical sites
  • providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures
  • responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure
  • maintaining sterile field during case
  • able to work well under stressful and emergency situations
  • able to act quickly and accurately

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:

  • certification in Surgical Technology/Certified First Assistant
  • successful completion of a training program in a recognized First Assistant program
  • five years’ experience in an acute care operating room in the scrub role, preferred
  • must be proficient in the following specialties: major vascular, thoracic
  • current Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
  • basic computer skills.
