Job Description

Position Summary: 

This position will be responsible for achieving corporate growth objectives for the entire Eurofins Discovery portfolio in the assigned territories. The candidate will work with members of the Eurofins Discovery Services Team to achieve sales targets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Guide Business Development personnel within a region to achieve or surpass a sales plan.
  • Responsible for meeting sales targets and revenue growth targets for Eurofins Discovery within a specified territory.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly business review summaries and forecasts for the assigned region. Provide corrective action notes for gaps where they may exist.
  • Address under-performing territories and seek corrective actions through mentoring, coaching, client visits and devising suitable strategies to address weaknesses.
  • Manage compensation plan distribution, reconciliation and annual reviews for personnel under your remit.
  • Be a point of contact for issues raised by team members. Elevate to senior management as needed for resolution.
  • Recruit and interview prospective candidates when needed for the Eurofins Discovery North America Services Team.
  • Work in concert with the Vice President, North America Eurofins Discovery Services to expedite synergistic Eurofins Discovery growth.
  • Develop and maintain high level client relationships in the territory and region through regular meetings (face-to-face or virtual)
  • Provide voice of customer and market feedback to management and seek innovation opportunities to expand the Eurofins Discovery Services offering.
  • Provide recommendations and feedback for business development and operational strategy.
  • Maintain a high level of technical and application competence and utilize this knowledge to drive business. Promote and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20-40% outside of the assigned territory.
  • Use a CRM to log client meetings, significant calls as well as for the tracking of all opportunities.
  • Input leads, contacts, accounts and opportunities into the company CRM and maintain the accuracy of these records to timeframes as directed by sales management.
  • Complete expense reports per policy.
  • Provide monthly forecast of business, by the due date specified, utilizing tools defined by sales management.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.
  • Demonstrate and promote the company vision.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Own the accountability and responsibility of delivering to client needs and timeliness.
  • Provides cross-functional support to other departments as required.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ): 

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.

Education/experience (BMQ): 

  • Degree in an applicable science (biology, chemistry, pharmacology…)
  • More than 3 years of management experience
  • More than 3 years of sales experience

Additional Preferences: 

  • 3 years of experience with revenue and budget management and guiding teams of 3 or more people

Supervisory Responsibility: 

  • Approximately 75% of time will be supervising and driving the regional sales team

Ability and/or Skills (BMQ): 

  • Exceptional business development, organization, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to partner effectively as part of a team to solve problems, negotiate solutions and reach a consensus.
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence skill set.
  • Proven ability to multi-task effectively.
