UHealth Information Technology department has an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor, Shipping & Receiving. The Supervisor, Shipping and Receiving, supervises and coordinates activities of employees who confirm and record the receipt of incoming and outgoing shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load/unload trucks.

  • Supervises the employment, disciplinary matters and approves or recommends selection of employees. 

  • Assists with the evaluation of employee performance.

  • Creates and monitors schedules and duties to shipping and receiving staff to ensure appropriate coverage.

  • Supervises incoming and outgoing shipping activities and ensures shipments are accurate, complete, and delivered in a timely manner.

  • Reviews, documents and maintains shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other shipment related records.

  • Determines shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.

  • Evaluates shipping operations to ensure most effective shipping procedures, routes, and rates are utilized.

  • Supervises movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas, and determines space requirements and position of shipments.

  • Gathers and compiles records of unfilled and incomplete orders and provides feedback to IT leadership.

  • Assists employees with shipping and receiving tasks to address periods of high volume.

  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. 

  • Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:                                                                                                        

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

  • Experience with automated ticketing system preferred.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles.

  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.

  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.

  • Knowledge of computer equipment and related peripherals

  • Commitment to the University's core values.
