POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Direct Service Manager, a Direct Service Lead is responsible to provide support, guidance, direction, re-direction to the children attending Community direct-care services, and outpatient services. Direct Service Lead will oversee Direct Service Providers who deliver services that support youth with emotional, physical and mental health challenges. Direct Service Lead are also responsible to assist in the training of new providers, complete monthly summaries and intakes as well as be the point of contact for Direct Services Providers in their assigned area in the absence of their immediate Direct Service Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Maintains safety, security and supervision of children at all times.
· Interacts with children through planned activities that meet the social, emotional and
· physical needs of the child.
· Administers and charts all prescribed medication as needed
· At all times respect and maintain the confidentiality of the child/family.
· When providing services in child’s home, household routines and preferences should be
· respected and maintained when possible.
· Reports all emergencies, concerns of children and building needs to the appropriate parties.
· Teach independent living, social and communication skills to children in order to maximize the child's ability to live and participate in the community and to function independently. This service will assigned by the Direct Service Manager if applicable.
· Ensures that parents sign children in and out according to procedure.
· Complete and maintains records as needed.
· Assists in preparation and serving of lunch and snacks, if appropriate.
· Attends weekly supervisions as required
· Transport children as necessary for community respite.
· Serves as the point of contact for Contracted Direct Services Providers in their area.
· Completes intake paperwork with families for all referrals for their area.
· Completes area training and trains area Direct Care Providers on new procedures.
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Working knowledge of Microsoft products.
· Knowledge of behavioral health agency policies and procedures.
· Ability to work well under deadline pressure and respond to inquiries from staff in timely manner.
· Ability to provide effective assistance and support to staff at all levels.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality in dealing with issues of a sensitive nature.
· CPR/1st Aid Certified
· Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance card.
· Must have valid Arizona Driver's License, business use vehicle insurance and vehicle registration.
· Must complete all necessary paperwork and mandatory training prior providing services.
· Must pass background check and drug screening.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Associates Degree or 60 credit hours of college credit
• Must be age 21 or over. (DBHS regulation)
• One year experience in behavioral health or childcare.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• 4 years experience in the behavioral health field requir
