About the position:
- General Schedule: M-F, 8a-5p
- No evening hours and no call
- Weekend and holiday shifts available for additional compensation.
- Staffing: one inpatient Psychiatrist and one Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment/management recommendations for hospitalized patients with comorbid medical and psychiatric or behavioral disorders.
- Conduct suicide risk assessments and develop appropriate safety and treatment plans.
- Assess and manage behavioral disturbances associated with dementia, delirium, or other neuropsychiatric and neurocognitive conditions.
- Coordinate care with hospital staff to optimize patient outcomes and ensure integrated treatment approaches.
- Support ED psychiatric counselor (LICSW, LMHC, SUDP) psychiatric evaluation and detainment processes; provide daily consult services for patients involuntarily detained in the ED or requiring inpatient admission.
- Collaborate closely with Case Management Social Work services supporting best practices in stabilization and treatment options facilitating optimized discharge planning.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide recommendations to enhance patient care and staff collaboration.
- Maintain familiarity with state laws and hospital policies governing involuntary psychiatric evaluation and treatment, including emergency holds.
- Provide education, consultation, and support to nursing and other hospital staff regarding behavioral management, psychiatric symptoms, and de-escalation strategies.
- Document evaluations, recommendations, and progress in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- PMHNP Certification
- Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of WA
- Ability to obtain a DEA license with full prescriptive authority

Base Salary Range: $160,000 - $175,000
