Job Summary
Dr. Kurtulus Izzetoglu is the lead for Drexel University’s collaboration with the FAA Center of Excellence for Technical Training and Human Performance (TTHP), and with the FAA Center of Excellence for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) – Alliance for System Safety of UAS through Research Excellence (ASSURE). He is in search of a Senior Research Scientist or the optical bench tests in his lab.
Essential Functions
- Optical fix and solid phantom design for lab testing of brain imaging sensors.
- Multi-layer brain mimicking dynamic test platform design and preparation with liquid phantoms to conduct functional brain imaging sensor performance test.
- Technical report preparation for lab tests.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

- At least 10 years of experience in phantom simulation of optical brain imaging.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with optical brain imaging and solid phantom design.

Additional Information
This is a Part-Time casual position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
