Role Context:
- Drive the creation and delivery of a focused export strategy, process, and execution plan for spirits eligible to offset duties, taxes and fees paid on imported spirits (vodkas, gins, scotches, cordials, etc.). The value to the business based on current opportunities is $15M - $200M annually
- Ongoing Program Management maximizing benefit based on changing demand forecasts, material availability and/or overall business need in correlation with import opportunity
- Partner with the business and the supply functional leaders across the organization to implement export plans and deliver breakthroughs across multiple cross-functional workstreams
- Own the successful export process with respect to the NA Supply Chain functions (Sourcing / Procurement, Planning, Materials Management and Logistics)
- Identify, monitor, and intensify action items and coordinate issues and dependencies across the export process
- Communicate integration status, issues, and risks to Integration Leadership and across NA Supply team, GBS supporting Teams, Spirits Market Stakeholders, and Diageo Global Executive Stakeholders.
- Support the evaluation by Tax and Regulatory team for future opportunities and potential partnerships
- Manage the efforts to welcome and successfully integrate all new partners into the various NA Supply Chain functions and within the timeframes, and compliance requirements of Diageo NA policies and procedures
- Lead cross functional workstreams and teams – working across supply (Source, Plan, Make & Move) and in partnership with the Technical teams (Supply Ops, Innovation and Brand).
- Develop an execution strategy for the supply footprint changes taking into account the immediate constraints for Source, Make and Move to ensure that we improve benefit across the full supply chain.
- Lead through a high level of complexity to deliver a focused and clear plan:
- SOURCE – Navigate highly constrained categories for raw and packaging materials
- Support commercialization efforts for introducing new suppliers, both domestically and globally
- Support commercialization efforts for TPO and liquid bulk streams supporting the export program
- MAKE
- Work with conversion centers to conduct full network capacity analysis.
- Partner with the MAKE team to investigate various filling capacity unlocks, prioritization of export SKUs, CapEx recommendations to improve benefit
- Support partnership efforts to introduce new TPOs opportunities required for short- and long-term expansion of the export program
- MOVE – Partner with MOVE team to develop a new route to market strategies for this growing business and connection with the MAKE strategy to deliver the right mix-ability to the right distribution points.
- PLAN – This massive growth is going to require the PLAN team to plan our filling assets differently and to tie into the SOURCE, MAKE and MOVE shifts discussed above. The Supply Chain Integration Director will need to help facilitate those shifts in order to implement the necessary supply changes.
- SOURCE – Navigate highly constrained categories for raw and packaging materials
Financial Accountabilities:
- Partner with Global Finance to develop accurate business case(s) for future opportunities, return on investment and the associated risk analysis.
- The role works across all Global functions.
Leadership Accountabilities:
- The Export Strategy Manager will be an inspirational leader who will help define the strategy that will drive breakthrough performance for Diageo North America Supply
- The leader needs to energize within Diageo, within the Supply organization and in partnership with our Global Demand and Supply colleague
