Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Research & Development (R&D) organization is looking for a motivated engineer with a software background to develop the Digital Engineering (DE) infrastructure (tools, environments, and automation) that serve as the foundation for development of the broader medical device ecosystem.
Furthering the Digital Engineering solution is key to improving the process of system definition, development, integration, verification, and validation of CRM products. You will be responsible for partnering with systems engineering peers, cross-functional product design teams, cross-functional design and test automation teams, cross-functional modeling teams, and program management to drive development, administration, support, and maintenance of our digital engineering solutions.
Along the path, you will utilize system and product design engineering principles to identify and execute opportunities for improved integration and interoperability between our Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment and other cross-functional partners’ tools and environments.
Candidates should have demonstrated ability to execute independently after receiving high level scope and constraints. Ideally candidates will have exposure to systems engineering practice in industry.
Primary Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for Digital Engineering solutions that drive quality and speed
Drive cross-functional alignment to define digital engineering solutions and processes within CRM and Medtronic
Drive cross-program alignment in development and use of MBSE capabilities
Lead definition and development of automation solutions aimed at improving workflow and process of system engineering activities
Understand internal and external customer use cases, workflows, and interactions
Drive program strategy and execute requirements elicitation, design, development/acquisition, review, and method validation for tools
Mentor systems engineers working on your projects
Drive strategic initiatives aimed at making our systems engineering processes and tools more efficient
Understand and execute best practices of Systems Engineering processes, advocate for high quality engineering
Travel approximately oncer per year
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
OR PhD with 3 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
