About the Position
We are looking to hire a Technical Project Manager who can help us coordinate and organize both one-time projects and ongoing initiatives. Technology is key to our business, and we will rely on you to deliver smart solutions in a fast-paced environment without disrupting the daily work of our colleagues.
This role sits within Jane Street’s IT Operations team, which is responsible for end-user setup and support, asset management, desktop technology relocation, IT equipment inventory and deployment, and support for infrastructure expansion projects. You will mostly work with our Moves-Adds-Changes (MAC) team, which manages our ever-changing hardware landscape, as well as our End User Support and Systems Support teams, which monitor a vast array of systems and troubleshoot back-end and end-user problems in real time.
Additionally, you will collaborate on current and future projects with people and teams from across the firm, including, Networking, Desktop Engineering (Windows and Linux), and Facilities. Additional responsibilities of this role will include:
- Communicating business and IT requirements
- Coordinating work with internal teams and external vendors
- Planning and coordinating desk and technology equipment moves, adds, and changes on a rolling basis
- Monitoring project timelines and technical resources and providing technical support as needed
- Providing high-quality, informative written and verbal project communications, including weekly statuses, dashboards, and project updates

About You
- Hands-on experience managing and executing technical projects and teams, and a strong understanding of project management methodologies
- Comfortable using project management planning tools (e.g., Jira, Google Docs and Sheets), Windows OS, and Microsoft Office (or Google Office) tools
- Knowledgeable of computer hardware and peripherals, with a strong interest in developing your skills in desktop technology and infrastructure
- Able to comprehend the major fundamentals of any project to understand how your role fits into the bigger picture
- Reliable, courteous, and a flexible team player
- Describes detailed problems with brevity and accuracy
- Can work autonomously with strong organizational skills; can handle a high volume of changing tasks in a challenging, fast-paced environment
- Able to work evenings and weekends when required
- Good relationship management and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English required
