The Global Risk Management (GRM) Summer Internship is an exciting opportunity to join the Dublin-based Risk team of a Canadian Bank for 10 weeks during Summer 2025. This programme is primarily focused on Enterprise Risk and will allow you to deepen your understanding of how an Investment Bank’s Risk function works and learn what it takes to be a trusted business partner.
This role sits within the GRM team in Dublin which focuses on credit risk, counterparty risk, market risk, liquidity risk, climate risk, stress testing and non-financial risks including operational risks, IT & cybersecurity risk, third-party risk and model risk.
What will my responsibilities look like?
- Contribute to the bank’s risk forecasting exercises: Assist with qualifying and quantifying the expected sensitivity of the bank’s exposure to severe economic scenarios (geopolitical, climate, inflation, etc.). Gain hands-on experience in risk forecasting and scenario analysis within a multinational bank.
- Analyse and understand quarterly movements in the bank’s risk profile: Engage with subject matter experts to gather insights and feedback. Assist with building comprehensive reports to clearly outline changes in risk. Develop your analytical skills and deepen your understanding of risk management.
- Utilise analytical tools: Help to ensure that data for forecasting reflects the bank’s portfolio positions and that model output is sensible. Enhance your proficiency with analytical software and tools and learn about the bank’s business operations.
- Compile and deliver Operational Risk KRI data: Request data from stakeholders and compile KRI report. Analyse results and looks for trends and flags.
- Assist with Operational Risk reporting: Compile report using KRI, RCSA, Op Risk events and other items. Assist in understanding the OpRisk profile and trajectory.
- Assist with preparing the Risk reporting packs for various Committees in Dublin.
- Participate in calls with other Risk teams in Toronto, London and the U.S.
- Working with the subject matter experts, assist the Enterprise Risk teams on cross functional initiatives.
