About the role

Description

The Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management (KNSM) (https://knsm.tamu.edu) within the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University is accepting applications for one full-time, tenure-track/tenured faculty position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level. We are seeking candidates who are well versed in mentoring faculty and doctoral students, who have a proven record of high impact research, ability to garner external funding, and leadership abilities. Strong candidates will be established scholars with an impactful research program that will advance the current department’s research strengths. The candidate will become an integral part of the Sport Management faculty, with expectations to engage in research efforts including interdisciplinary collaborations, aggressively seek funding opportunities, provide research mentorship for students, as well as teach graduate/undergraduate courses, and be involved in service responsibilities.   

Appointment: Nine-month, full-time, tenure-track/tenured position with a start date of August 1, 2026. All tenure-track/tenured faculty members are expected to make significant contributions in the areas of scholarly research/creative work, teaching, and service.  Salary, benefits, and compensation packages are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Very competitive startup packages are available to establish a productive research environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a juris doctorate or a doctoral degree in Sport Management or related academic discipline
  • Must have training and experience in impactful research with a record of peer-reviewed publications in high-quality journals and presentations at national meetings
  • Must demonstrate a feasible plan for acquiring internal and external funding for cross-disciplinary research 
  • Must have previous scholarship addressing sport management issues and theoretical advancements
  • Must show evidence of of effective teaching and mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students
  • Must show evidence of commitment and collaboration 
  • Must show evidence of specific accomplishments demonstrating expertise in an area of Sport Management that complements existing faculty
