The Sr. Manager/Director, Distribution & Logistics (Contract to Perm) is responsible for the comprehensive network strategy, policy and procedure formulation, and operational excellence of quip’s global network. Oversight of distribution (both company owned and 3PL), all logistics, trade compliance (US Import / Export), and site inventory control / safety.
This position will closely partner with cross functional leadership in Planning, Sourcing, Customer Experience, and Sales to ensure business objectives are met with regards to inventory controls, on-time, consistent, and high quality order fulfillment. This role reports directly into the Head of Operations.
The opportunity will be full time at 40 hours per week, this contract minimum will be ~5 months to provide coverage while a team member is out on leave with the opportunity to convert to a permanent addition the team.
Total Annual Salary Range: $150-$180k
This range represents anticipated base salary range for this position, in addition to competitive benefits and equity (as applicable). We carefully assess and consider several factors with each candidate, including location, role-related knowledge, experience and skills. Compensation may vary based on these considerations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with the Head of Operations to formulate and design a global network.
- Own cascading and implementation / execution of strategic initiatives and business unit goals.
- Responsible for optimizing the network to deliver on quip customer excellence in terms of order quality, timeliness, and accuracy.
- Utilize analytics, statistical and optimization modeling tools to identify and assess opportunities for further improvements.
- Identify, qualify, and manage strategic partnerships – both internally and externally.
- Drives best practices, cohesiveness, and consistency across internal and external operations.
- Provide fiscal oversight to meet established budgetary targets.
- Drive savings through cost reductions and avoidance as well as increased efficiencies.
- Design a world-class organization to support quip’s network.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to current team members while attracting, onboarding, and ensuring success of new talent.
- Negotiates master agreements and associated rates with all partners; ensuring compliance with all agreed upon terms and billing.
- Formulate, deploy, and ensure compliance with global applications, policies, and procedures; ensuring compliance with all regulatory policies and site safety.
- Design, develop, and deploy on key performance indicators for both internal operations as well as for quip Leadership; Continually evaluating, measuring, and refining processes to improve.
- Conduct periodic reviews with strategic partners as well as key cross-functional partners (e.g Customer Experience). Identifies solutions for new business opportunities to support the client base.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of systems including Order Management Systems, ERP, WMS, and E-commerce platforms.
- Partner closely with IT to design, modify, and run new software and hardware within the network.
REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years of experience in global operations, distribution, or logistics.
- Proven track record of architecting global supply chain networks including distribution and logistics functions, processes, and supporting technologies particularly during times of rapid business expansion.
- Strong familiarity with direct to consumer and wholesale networks, processes, and supporting technologies.
- In-depth industry / market knowledge, partners, customs, statutory, and geo-political environments
- Advanced knowledge of relevant technologies and computer literacy– OMS, ERP, WMS, E–commerce platforms as well as the Office Suite.
- Ability to link innovation, capability building, and operational excellence to business strategy and goals
- Strong communications skills and the ability to partner closely with all levels of the organization, including quip Leadership.
- International working experience required (Asia experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or similar concentration preferred but not required.
