Director- Data Governance & Management

As part of the Finance Data Governance (FDG) within Corporate Controllership, the Director of Finance Data Governance will lead compliance efforts, manage audits, and drive strategic improvements in data governance across Finance systems and processes.

The Director role is focused on ensuring that Finance data governance and management processes are complying with the data and risk policies ensuring appropriate controls and documentation exists to stand a regulatory or internal examination or audit. The role will be responsible for remediating any gaps or issues either self-identified or noted during an audit or examination. The director will be responsible for the effectiveness, testing and uplift of process controls within the data governance processes.

The FDG Director is a collaborator, a well-organized, action-oriented individual with exceptional leadership and time management skills, confident in presenting, facilitating, and building a network of strong relationships across our organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead various audits, reviews, or examinations performed on Finance Data Governance processes
• Lead remediation of findings or gaps identified in the data governance and management processes.
• Assess impact of new policies or policy refreshes – Enterprise Data Management Operational Policy and Enterprise Data Risk Policy - on the processes and guide the team for change management or establishing new processes
• Strategic thought partnership with the 1st (Enterprise Data Office), 2nd (Enterprise Data Risk Management), 3rd (Internal Audit) line of defenses, Technology, and Regulatory Reporting teams to ensure compliance with data risk policies.
• Making sure appropriate documentation exists for data governance and management processes.   
• Support implementation of PRSA / RCSA controls and ensure effective controls exist on the processes.
• Establish Finance Data Governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities.
• Implementing requirements of the Enterprise Data Governance Policy within various critical Finance systems/processes.
• Support implementation of process improvement initiatives to make Finance Data Governance more effective and efficient.
• Advancing the Data Governance Strategy for Finance. 

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of work experience in Banking/Financial Services.
• Master’s degree in finance/accounting
• Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets
