The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Regional Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: This is a remote role; however, candidates located in NY, NJ, or PA are strongly preferred.
Shift: 1st shift Monday - Friday
Salary Range: $65K - $72K + 5% annual bonus

What we’re looking for
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Associate or bachelor’s degree in a business or science-related field preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in customer service, purchasing, or account management
At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
Forklift certification is a plus
Training in spill containment, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and HAZWOPER is advantageous
GMP and GLP training preferred
CPR and OSHA “Right to Know” training is desirable
Inside sales experience and cross-referencing skills are a plus
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:
Provide leadership and coaching to team members, ensuring achievement of performance goals and objectives.
Serve as the primary liaison between customers, VWR services, and VWR sales teams to maintain seamless communication and service delivery.
Deliver training and act as a backup for associates to ensure operational continuity.
Manage departmental budgets, review, and approve expense reports.
Analyze customer data and prepare detailed performance reports.
Mentor and guide team members, fostering professional growth and development.
Define and monitor departmental goals aligned with corporate objectives.
Track and report performance metrics against established targets.
Develop and implement programs and procedures to enhance productivity and profitability.
Oversee administrative tasks such as performance appraisals, timecard approvals, and scheduling.
Create and maintain SOPs, SOWs, SPIs, and KPIs to ensure operational consistency.
Conduct internal and external presentations as required.
Ensure compliance with GxP standards and maintain good documentation practices.
Deliver added value to customers through industry expertise and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage scientific services with a focus on revenue growth and reducing Total Operating Expense (TOE).
Adhere to all customer requirements, including background checks, health and safety protocols, security clearances, and medical screenings.
Demonstrate proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Provide exceptional customer service with a professional, solution-oriented approach.
