What you will be doing
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reviews, prepares, and evaluates agreements prior to signature to ensure accuracy and interpret and influence customer and business unit commitments, performance requirements, delivery obligations, timelines, costs, payment schedules, and other terms with the goal of minimizing Strategic Global Sourcing’s exposure to risk.
2. Works closely with subject matter experts to validate content and context of contract to resolve inconsistencies in a timely manner.
3. Assesses and identifies the need for legal review and engages attorneys as needed, by setting and managing continuously changing priorities as well as customer expectations.
4. Assists attorneys with complex contracting issues.
5. Develops and conducts training in contract acumen and policies for new hires and stakeholders as needed.
6. Support inquiries from Strategic Global Sourcing and its stakeholders regarding contracting and compliance policies, procedures, risks, and contract status.
7. Responsible for contract management usage and reporting.
8. Responsible for the maintenance of contractual content library of commonly used contract language, special terms and conditions, and other client-specific requirements.
9. Conducts daily maintenance and troubleshooting to maintain accuracy in tracking systems.
10. Management of contractual documents for the business unit.
11. Responsible for creating and managing contract templates docs as needed.
12. Partners with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and clear communication.
13. Performs related duties as assigned.
What your background should look like
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires training and understanding in fields such as legal, business administration, grant/contract management or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four (4) year Bachelor's Degree Program or Paralegal Certification; requires five (5) to seven (7) direct experience in contracting and/or law firm experience; working knowledge of reading, writing and understanding the effect of contractual/legal terms and conditions. Experience in healthcare industry preferred.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
2. Ability to analyze, identify, and draft contractual language
3. Impeccable proofreading skills and attention to detail
4. Strong problem-solving ability
5. Advanced analytical skills relative to contract information and related matters
6. Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing
7. Ability to evaluate risk, urgency and prioritize tasks
8. Strong presentation skills
9. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
10. Working knowledge of computers and software programs necessary to operate effectively with company systems and programs, especially MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Experience with contract management systems also preferred.
11. Ability to offer and implement ideas to improve efficiency and effectiveness of team.
12. Strong business acumen.
