Our Territory Representatives interact face to face with our customers, understand their needs and consult to offer the right solutions. We work collaboratively in Field Sales Teams and play a critical role in supporting our customer centric business model. 

As the largest provider of animal identification technology, we meet growing customer needs by providing over 500 million tags for identifying, tracking and monitoring animals every year and we monitor over 5.5 million cows daily, which allows access to real-time, actionable data and insights to help improve or enhance animal management and health outcomes.

Our Company's Animal Health (AH) division offers veterinarians, farmers, pet owners and governments one of the widest ranges of veterinary pharmaceuticals, vaccines and health management solutions and services as well as an extensive suite of digitally connected identification, traceability and monitoring products. Our Company's Animal Health is dedicated to preserving and improving the health, well-being and performance of animals and the people who care for them.

The Territory Sales Manager - Livestock ID Infrastructure are responsible for establishing and driving the deployment of RFID reader technology throughout the livestock supply chain to achieve our target of leading in transparency and traceability. The team’s primary objectives include building client relationships, achieving sales targets, and supporting the overall company's Animal Health Livestock sales strategy. The Territory Sales Manager - Livestock ID Infrastructure will work alongside the cattle territory managers and serve as subject matter experts for Identification in their respective regions. This position reports to the Associate Director of Identification Infrastructure Sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main contact for assigned accounts, managing sales activities in line with company policies.

  • Establish business relations with key industry contacts within the territory to include state livestock organizations, universities, regulatory officials, state veterinarians and state identification coordinators extension services, auction barns, packing plants, and influential producers.

  • Meets with key personnel/decision makers to understand enterprise structure, business model, key influencers, customer needs and identifies business opportunities.

  • Communicate to end-user consumers about the product(s) in a way that is meaningful and relevant to each individual customer.  Customize discussions and interactions based on understanding of customer's needs.

  • Monitor competitive activities and products making strategic recommendations to maintain or improve our market position.

  • Serve in outside organizations and attend industry functions that are beneficial to our company's Animal Health and the livestock industry.

  • Recommend distribution strategies and changes as needed in addition to providing input and feedback to Sales and Marketing Management regarding sales strategy and marketing plans for RFID products.

  • Work with leadership and Field Technical Services to develop and deliver relevant offerings that address desired customer needs.  Work collaboratively across all species teams to foster our Company's approach to enhance knowledge of the entire (ID) product portfolio.

  • Share with other team members within the region to foster growth and development within the team

  • The ability to perform the job function in accordance with our company's Animal Health policies, procedures and systems using sound management practice.

  • Requires excellent professional judgement and organizational skills with flexibility to move from one priority to another.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with management and all staff.

  • Attend and/or arrange meetings and functions as required.

  • Keep current and in compliance with company rules and other legal entities.

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferred in Animal Science, Agribusiness, Marketing, or a related field.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of three years of prior sales experience.

  • Experience in animal health, livestock knowledge, beef and/or dairy experience.

  • Experience with P.C. computer and functional relevant software programs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Effective communication in English both verbal and written is required.

  • Good to excellent communication skills.
