Job Summary

The GME Research Data Developer is an integral part of the GME Research Team and is responsible for the design, development, and project management of business intelligence solutions, including reports, dashboards, and other data views, to meet the needs of GME stakeholders for various data sources. This role will have extensive interaction with GME research team members, GME stakeholders and GME leadership and will be tasked with analysis of GME data and analytics requirements, and the transformation of those requirements into analytics solutions. A key element of this role includes serving as the IRB defined “honest-broker” for research-related databases to ensure the ethical and appropriate use of access to institutional data. The Developer with be responsible for developing complex reports and dashboard in EPIC and other Business Intelligence systems 80-90% of the time. Strong project management skills: ability to formulate action plans and timelines and to execute those plans; ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Strong analytical skills to develop, interpret, adapt, known methods, system procedures or operating concepts to new situations. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Demonstrated ability to achieve results through team efforts, willingness to challenge established practices draw relevant conclusions. Leads and coaches team members to achieve goals, objectives and personal growth. 

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Licensure or other certifications: Qlik Sense Business Analyst Certification required should be obtained within two (2) years of being hired, and 
    Clarity and Caboodle Data model certified required should be obtained within one (1) year of being hired. OR Epic Cogito fundamentals and Cogito Tools Administration certification/accreditation required within one (1) year of being hired.

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree

  • Minimum Experience: A minimum of eight (8)+ years of experience as a developer with various BI and other analytic reporting software applications (PowerBI, Tableau and Qlik). Prior experience providing production level support and/or development in business intelligence (BI)/enterprise data warehouse (EDW) environments. Working knowledge of data warehouse concepts, enterprise data management, modeling techniques and ability to create solutions. Experience in participating in strategy discussions and review them with customer as well as project stakeholders. Experience in database development and management tasks such as creating indexes, functions, stored procedures, creating databases, file groups, users, configuring permissions and assigning roles to users. 

  • Other: Bachelors Degree Required in Computer Science, Math, or related field. In lieu of Bachelor's Degree related experience in the field, twelve (12) years progressively responsible, professional job specific work experience and an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities, combined with demonstrated professional growth and achievement.
