About the team:
The ETO (Enterprise Technology Office) Reporting team is a small dedicated group of professionals who work to provide accurate and timely data analysis and reporting across the Enterprise Technology Office. Our team specializes in extracting insights from large and complex datasets to support strategic decision-making in regards to the Client Portal and Infinity IdP products. We use advanced data visualization tools to present information in a clear and concise manner. Our goal is to empower our colleagues and stakeholders with the information they need to make informed decisions. We are committed to delivering high-quality results and continuously improving our processes.
What you will be doing:
As a Database Analyst, your daily responsibilities will include maintaining, supporting, and documenting the integration between our Oracle and Postgres operational databases and Snowflake.
You will be responsible for maintaining the health and stability of our Snowflake database warehouse and generating reports using BI tools such as ThoughtSpot, WebFocus, and other tools.
Additionally, you will be tasked with fulfilling data requests by running SQL queries against existing databases or creating new SQL queries for partner teams.
Participates in quality assurance and develops test application code in client server environment.
Provides expertise in devising, negotiating and defending the tables and fields provided in the database.
Adapts business requirements, developed by business systems analysts/modeling/development staff and develops data, database specifications and table and element attributes for an application.
Models databases and develops tables, stored procedures, views, triggers and other database objects.
Maintains database dictionaries, monitors overall database standards and procedure, and integrates systems through database design.
Works closely with other developers to integrate databases with other applications.
What you will need:
The ideal candidate will have strong SQL knowledge and capable of writing new scripts across a complex dataset.
The candidate will also be able to consult on database best practices, performance tuning, and triage incidents with developers and colleagues.
The role expands beyond just SQL; the candidate must be able to learn new technologies, knowledge share, and be able to integrate with companion technologies such as AWS S3, Azure, BI tools, Python scripting, and cross platform data movement.
Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycle
Proficiency to create and support database technical environments
Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed
Added Bonus if you have:
Experience with writing Python/KSH scripts
Experience with using Linux command line tools
Experience with using BI tools
Knowledge of Oracle Golden Gate
Knowledge of FIS Products and Services
Knowledge of Fintech industry.
