The Impact You’ll Make

As a lead data engineer supporting digital transformation in Enterprise Analytics group at Lam Research you will be responsible for designing and developing the overall data engineering and integration for current/future state systems and processes. You will be writing the specs and designing the solutions and coordinate with the development team to support the business needs and collaborate with data architecture, business, and development teams.

What You’ll Do

• Use technical leadership expertise to drive data engineering design to integrate LAM’s enterprise systems and external apps to corporate data lake.
• Work with key business and GIS stakeholders supporting digital transformation program and provide the leadership to define the data engineering framework and architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data architects, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of robust data pipelines to collect, process, and store structured and unstructured data from various sources.
• Leverage current data architecture as a data hub for digital transformation program and identify additional tools and services to address the data engineering gaps.
• Optimize and tune data storage and retrieval processes for performance and scalability.
• Establish best practices and standards for data engineering processes, tools, and technologies.
• Mentor and coach junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Lead and collaborate with the infrastructure and DevOps teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and security of our data platforms.
• Demonstrate the capabilities and conduct POCs of data and advanced analytics solutions to digital transformation teams to show the potential of the Data Fabric/SILK platform.
• Design advanced data engineering solutions and products using Microsoft Azure tech stack
• Develop collaborative relationships with key business sponsors and IT resources for the efficient resolution of work requests.

Who We’re Looking For

• 15+ years of experience in leading the design and development of complex data engineering projects in a global company. Experience in working for projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules.
• 10+ years of SQL experience with strong data modeling background.

• Must have strong proficiency in programming in Python/Py Spark with hands on experience in Spark based data platforms.

• Experience in building real-time data pipelines and stream processing systems.
• Background in designing and building the system reliability architecture for data engineering/storage services.

• 5+ years of experience in working with Microsoft Azure and strong knowledge about ADLS, Blob Storage, Data Factory, Delta Lake, MS Fabric, Data Bricks. Experience in Cloud based EDW platforms (Snowflake, Synapse, Redshift, Big Query etc.)

• Must have strong experience in ETL design and development, data pipelines development methodologies, tools, processes, and best practices.
• Communication and presentation experience with proven track record of using insights to influence executives and colleagues
• Strong Computer Science and Mathematics background preferred
• Excellent query writing skill and communication skills preferred
• Familiarity with common API’s: REST, SOAP preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, Data Science, Analytics or in a relevant Engineering discipline. Master's or PhD preferred.
