As a Data Engineer III - Oracle DBA at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Connected Commerce Tech Payments team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.Job responsibilities
- Supports review of controls to ensure sufficient protection of enterprise data
- Responsible for advising and making custom configuration changes in one to two tools to generate a product at the business or customer request
- Updates logical or physical data models based on new use cases
- Frequently uses SQL and understands NoSQL databases and their niche in the marketplace
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Experience across the data lifecycle
- Demonstrate knowledge of Oracle DBA, with a strong understanding of databases, and oracle engineered systems (e.g. Exadata, ZFS, and ZDLRA)
- Proficient experience in Distributed Database technologies (e.g., MS-SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cockroach DB, Cassandra, and MongoDB)
- Strong knowledge of administering various multi-Terabyte, 24x7 uptime Oracle databases as a Systems/Infrastructure Database Administrator required
- Strong experience with oracle versions 11gR½, 12c, and 19c in a Linux environment
- Experience with features such as oracle real application cluster (RAC), Automatic Storage Management (ASM), Active Data Guard, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Golden Gate replication
- Proficient development skills in dynamic programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, .NET, Perl, PL/SQL, and Unix shell scripting)
- Significant experience with statistical data analysis and ability to determine appropriate tools and data patterns to perform analysis
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Advanced at SQL (e.g., joins and aggregations)
- Working understanding of NoSQL databases
- Experience working with the following tools: Jira, Service now (incidents/change), confluence, GIT, bitbuckett, and AAAS.
- Familiarity with Backup and Recovery using Oracle RMAN, ZDLRA appliances
- Working knowledge of Micro services, along with cloud technologies
- Experience with Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance is a plus
