Data Engineer

The Data Engineer role in St Augustine, involves creating innovative solutions for connecting data systems to the warehouse, ensuring data integrity, managing ETL processes, overseeing the Big Query environment, and developing strategies to improve data management to promote data usage and analytics.

This role is pivotal in enhancing our data pipelines and Business Intelligence ecosystem. The data engineer builds and maintains the infrastructure for data collection and processing. They are responsible for designing, constructing, and optimizing the data pipelines that enable us to move and transform raw data into a usable format for analysis.

What you have already achieved: (Requirements)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• Experience with data integration and data transformation techniques.
• Proficiency in SQL and other database technologies.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
• Experience in developing and implementing data management strategies.
• Strong understanding of data privacy and security regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• At least 3 years of experience in data management, including data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) especially Big Query or similar platform
• Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks relevant to the role (e.g., C#, .NET, Javascript, Python)

What you are great at: (Responsibilities) 

• Create innovative solutions for integrating data systems with the data warehouse. (third party solutions or in-house custom solutions)
• Ensure the integrity of data within the warehouse and manage ETL processes.
• Manage the organization's Google Cloud Platform (GCP) / Big Query environment.
• Develop strategies to improve data management within the organization.
• Work closely with other departments to understand their data needs and ensure they are met with consideration to security data standards.
• Stay updated on latest industry trends and technologies in data management.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
• Experience with Cognos is a plus.
• Any other development experience to build/maintain custom applications is a plus.
