Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a highly independent position that oversees the Information Technology (IT) Department, under the supervision of the Financial Administrator of the Florida Department of Health - Hillsborough County. The incumbent in this position oversees staff of seven in support of the local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN), which includes voice, data, and video support, desktop computer support, and intranet/internet access and support.  The incumbent in this position serves as the Information Security officer at FDOH-Hillsborough.

This position serves as the named System Administrator and the Disaster Recovery Coordinator for FDOH Hillsborough County.

Ensure all IT systems are maintained, operational and available for use during advertised hours of operation.

Perform an annual review of all systems and verifies they comply with local, Department of Health, State Technology Office operating directives, policies, procedures, and standards. Maintain and make available the work order priority listing to accurately and quickly address customer service requests and work completed. Perform an annual review of priorities to keep it current and accurate. Ensure and verify that all requests for customer assistance to the Help Desk are documented timely and accurately.

Maintain a complete inventory of all Information Technology equipment and update as required. Conduct annual departmental reviews of IT equipment, in coordination with senior leaders/program managers, to determine functionality, operability and compliance with all applicable local and state directives and make appropriate recommendations as needed. Analyze, evaluate and coordinate the acquisition of IT hardware and software and ensure compliance and interoperability with local and state-maintained systems. Prepare and manage the IT budget and contribute to the development and maintenance of the Project budget. <
