Job Overview
A key enabler of Mainspring’s mission is the ability of its team to develop and execute on key growth strategies required to substantially grow sales as data center load growth drives the future economy. This includes developing the required strategies and executing high total-contract-value transactions with strategic partners and customers in the data center market. Mainspring seeks Business Development Director to develop and execute these critical customer and partnership opportunities, and bring Mainspring’s unique capabilities in emissions performance, scalability, and fuel flexibility to unlock more compute capacity.You will be responsible for supporting all aspects of strategy and execution for the data center market. Success in this role requires a high level of competency in the data center space and what drives the developers/owners in the way of design and siting, as well as technical needs for energy and resiliency, to win business in this dynamic market.

Responsibilities
- Leverage the proper cross functional teams and perform the necessary research and analysis required to develop engagement strategies and business plans around growth customers and partners in the data center market
- Execute these strategies by:
- Networking with and engaging the applicable personnel
- Qualifying opportunities
- Articulating and quantifying the value of the Mainspring product
- Fostering and cultivating strong relationships through the full deal cycle--collaboration, term sheet, contract negotiations, and close
- Employ lessons learned from research, strategy development, and partner engagement to enhance Mainspring product lines by collaborating with the product and engineering teams
Qualifications
- At least 15 years of experience supporting and transacting innovative technical/energy/resilience deals in the data center space
- Comprehensive understanding of the data center space. Preference for candidates who possess an understanding of incentives and macroeconomic forces driving resilience and topology decisions at customer-owned data centers
- Experience: Bachelor’s degree required (engineering strongly preferred); advanced degrees preferred (e.g., Masters, MBA, PhD, JD, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute on strategy by winning customer trust across all stakeholders (procurement, engineering, operation
