The vision of TPRM Data Analytics team is to drive consistent end-to-end third-party oversight through clear roles and responsibilities, allowing our crew to make data-based and risk-based decisions related to the use of third parties, and to effectively safeguard clients’ data and critical business operations. Our mission is to enable risk smart and strategic decision making by effectively and proactively managing risks associated with our “extended enterprise” (third parties that are an extension of Vanguard).

The Data Analyst, Specialist is vital to accomplish the mission and the vision of our TPRM Data Analytics team. The Data Analyst, Specialist analyzes data, assesses trends and develops actionable insights and recommendations in support of large strategic business initiatives. Actively develops the analytics community at Vanguard by coaching others internally and participating in external events.

The Data Analyst, Specialist:

• Engages with internal partners to understand business strategy, questions, and goals. Brings structure to business requests, defines the requirements, translates requirements into an analytical project approach, and leads complex projects through completion. Delegates tasks and provides tactical and strategic guidance to peers. Serves as the analytics expert on cross-functional teams for large strategic initiatives.
• Define, engage, and involve in developing Data Strategy Vision, Mission, and Roadmap for the Data Analytics team.
• Should have a holistic understanding of data warehousing and involve in BI and Data architecture discussion and consultation.
• Defining the project’s schedule and scope with timely and regular value deliveries, organizing & leading projects, and project status meetings.
• Delivering Agile projects that offer outstanding business value to the users.
• Acquires and compiles structured and unstructured data and verifies its quality, accuracy, and reasonableness.
• Must turn the raw data into information and insight, which will be used to make business decisions.
• Performs analysis of historical data to surface trends and insights using advanced analytical methods. Validates analytical techniques employed by other analysts.
• Prepares and delivers expert level visualizations and internal presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business partners to implement.
• Develops, owns, and manages recurring analytic or reporting processes.
• Actively develops the analytics community at Vanguard by mentoring, coaching, and connecting others with resources and training. Participates and presents during scheduled analytics seminars.
• Develops functional, technical and end-user documentation for all the projects involved.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it takes:

• Minimum of five years of related work experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
• Expert level proficiency with Tableau is a must and preferably done tableau certifications.
• Advanced SQL Skills is a must.
• Data engineering skills and knowledge are preferred.
• Basic python skills are preferred.
• Familiarity with Figma is preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must be familiar with business analysis frameworks and methods such as BABOK, Agile, or Scrum.
• Must be a fast learner, self-starter, process oriented, influencer and should lead & drive projects.
• Must possess business acumen, solid planning, priority setting and project management skills while managing multiple projects.
• Successful in developing relationships and partnerships within and across teams.
• Nice to have Risk domain knowledge.
• Nice to have AWS cloud experience.

• This is a hybrid role with Tues, Wed, Thurs in the office and Mon, Fri is remote.
