Reporting to the Creative Operations Lead, the Print Production Manager oversees the end-to-end delivery of all in-store creative print campaigns across the Primark estate, from planning through to execution. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while leading the print production team and serving as the primary contact for Retail Marketing. Key responsibilities include production planning, vendor management, allocation strategy, workflow optimisation, performance reporting, and driving continuous improvement through streamlined and automated production processes to ensure consistent campaign execution across all markets.

Job Description

What You’ll Do as Print Production Manager

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:  
 

  • Lead production planning and campaign delivery by partnering with Creative Studio and Retail Marketing teams to build and manage critical paths, ensure timely receipt of print-ready assets, establish allocation principles, mitigate risks, and translate campaign briefs into production plans that balance speed, quality, cost, and sustainability.
  • Own and optimise the Production Process Platform, acting as the lead user to ensure accurate job tracking and efficient workflow management, while driving continuous improvements through system enhancements, testing, rollouts, training, and the implementation of consistent processes, documentation, and reporting standards.
  • Manage print production execution and supplier performance, ensuring accurate asset handovers, supplier capacity, colour standards, materials, and specifications are met, resolving production issues quickly, and championing sustainability initiatives across materials, processes, and waste reduction.
  • Drive allocation strategy and in-store campaign execution through data-led allocation principles, store-specific planning, adoption of bespoke allocation methodologies, delivery of BAU print production initiatives, sustainability pilots, material trials, standards improvements, and VM Comms elevation projects from concept to execution.
  • Lead budgeting, reporting, and insight generation, providing detailed forecasting and cost control, delivering regular performance updates to the Head of In-Store Marketing, and identifying trends, innovations, risks, opportunities, and efficiencies through internal and external production insights.
  • Lead and develop the print production team while fostering cross-functional collaboration with Creative, Marketing, VM, Store Design, Product Business Partners, and external stakeholders, building accountability, capability, a culture of continuous improvement, and effective problem-solving.

  • 3+ years Proven management experience within print production, marketing operations, or a production-led environment.
  • Strong knowledge of print processes, materials, supplier management, and asset delivery workflows.
  • Experience using production or workflow platforms, with a track record of process improvement.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Confident stakeholder communicator — able to influence, negotiate, and manage expectations.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and supplier performance.
  • Proactive, solution-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with fixed deadlines.
