Director, Accounts Payable

Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for a Director, Accounts Payable to join our Accounts Payable Department! This is a remote position that requires residency in KY or IN.

Has system-wide responsibility for Accounts Payable functions, providing strategic direction and operational oversight to ensure timely and accurate recording of expenses and payment of vendor invoices in accordance with established policies and procedures, with a focus on customer service and continuous improvement.

Leads and develops the Accounts Payable team; oversees travel and expense processing; ensures vendor master data integrity and 1099 compliance; partners with Supply Chain, internal departments, and vendors to resolve issues; and collaborates with ERP stakeholders to maintain and enhance payables-related systems, controls, metrics, and reporting in support of efficient, best-practice processes. 

• Set strategic direction and lead systemwide Accounts Payable operations and end-to-end procure-to-pay execution.
•  Own the payables technology strategy, governance, and data integrity for payables-related systems and automation
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development for the Accounts Payable team
• Provide enterprise governance for compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness
• Drive service excellence, performance measurement, and continuous improvement across the systemwide payables function

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent college level coursework.
• 5+ years experience in an Accounts Payable leadership role, preferably in a large multi-site hospital or healthcare system.
• Experience with AP-related software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle, Workday) and advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables); experience in shared services/multi-location environments and leading major system implementations or upgrades. 
• ​​Accounts Payable Management or Procure-to-Pay certification preferred.​
