Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Second Shift

Location: Germantown, MD (with travel throughout DC, MD, and VA)
Schedule: Full-time | Tuesday–Saturday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
Pay: $23.50–$30.00/hr + $1.00/hr second shift differential

Fresh Baguette is expanding its Maintenance Team to ensure smooth, safe, and reliable operations across all sites.

Position Overview
We're seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our second shift to support maintenance operations at our Germantown Production Center and other locations. You’ll work hands-on with bakery machinery and building systems, performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, and ensuring all equipment runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and bakery machinery (e.g., ovens, mixers, HVAC units, walk-in coolers/freezers).
• Diagnose equipment failures and carry out timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Install and replace mechanical components and systems.
• Lubricate and clean machinery to ensure optimal function.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used via our CMMS system.
• Communicate effectively using digital tools (e.g., Team software) to coordinate with team members and management.
• Maintain tools, shop inventory, and cleanliness of the maintenance areas.
• Travel to off-site retail locations using a company vehicle.
• Assist with equipment upgrades and improvements.
• Collaborate with managers to plan and schedule maintenance work.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Valid driver’s license (required)
• EPA or CFC Certification (required)
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
• Willingness to travel (up to 50%) using a company-provided vehicle

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA certification, low-voltage safety training, or first aid certification
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)

Training Schedule

• Initial training: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Post-training: Tuesday–Saturday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
