Meaningful Work From Day One
As a Senior Systems Engineer at Brown-Forman, you will provide systems engineering, implementation, and support for our global technology infrastructure, serving approximately 4,000 employees across domestic and international operations. This includes managing server and storage systems, data networks, telecommunications, hardware, systems software, data centers, information security, and 24/7 operations support. You will design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure systems, working across Azure cloud architecture, Linux and Windows platforms, enterprise storage and backup, and virtualization. Collaboration with SAP support teams, advanced problem-solving, and broad technical expertise are essential as you support mission-critical systems with minimal oversight.

What You Can Expect

Architecture & Engineering

  • Recommend and implement IT solutions to improve operations.

  • Lead or support multiple infrastructure projects using the internal project lifecycle.

  • Identify process gaps and build business cases for new technology investments.

  • Design and evaluate infrastructure for performance, security, and scalability.

  • Create and maintain documentation, including diagrams, specifications, test plans, and change controls.

  • Estimate project costs and assist in prioritizing based on business value.

  • Align technical solutions with broader IT strategy and user needs.

General Support & Vendor Management

  • Troubleshoot escalated technical issues across systems and infrastructure.

  • Work with vendors and partners to support hardware, software, and services.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and ensure service levels are met.

  • Document procedures for operational support and knowledge sharing.

  • Provide tier-3 engineering support to maintain smooth system operations.

  • Create and maintain system documentation for operational infrastructure management.

  • Collaborate with strategic teams to resolve problems and take corrective actions to ensure systems meet operational and functional SLAs.

  • Deliver engineering-level support for Brown-Forman infrastructure to sustain daily operations.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related field with 3–5 years of relevant systems engineering experience architecting, deploying, and supporting enterprise‑scale server, virtualization, cloud, and storage systems, including the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues in a production environment; OR 5–7 years of equivalent hands‑on systems engineering experience with the same technical scope and responsibilities.

  • Professional Skills: Process-oriented yet innovative, self-starting, and hands-on technology professional able to work under general supervision. Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills, including presentation and negotiation skills for communication across all organizational levels.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Exposure to Windows and/or Linux server administration (full lifecycle).

    • Proficient in Microsoft Active Directory.

    • Experience with installation and configuration of server hardware.

    • Understanding of Windows Operating System architecture.

    • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or HyperV.

    • Experience in software patching and device management (Windows/macOS).

    • Basic understanding of backup and recovery practices.

    • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery procedures and planning.

    • Networking basics and collaboration technologies (A/V, video conferencing, etc.).

    • Exposure to cloud infrastructure like Azure or GCP.

What Makes You Unique 

  • Linux experience is a plus, but not required.

  • Experience with backup and recovery solutions, monitoring tools, or automation/scripting.

  • Certifications in Microsoft, RedHat, VMware, or other infrastructure technologies are a bonus.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
