• Required: Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at UW-Madison• Preferred: Major in Data Science/Analytics, Education, or a related field
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Required:
• Strong written communication skills
• Comfort using data management tools
• Interest in the SimLab’s mission, services, and technology
• Basic understanding of the literature review process
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Organized, reliable, and able to manage 15-20 hours of work per week
• Ability to take feedback and iterate on content
• Curious and adaptable
Position Summary/Job Duties:
• Data Preparation and Quality Control: Contribute to the development and implementation of data cleaning and management protocols to ensure high quality data sets for analysis. This includes assisting with data collection and data management. This may include attending simulation sessions, saving, and organizing data.
• Literature Review and Synthesis: Support the research team by assisting targeted literature reviews on simulation-based learning and its impact on professional practice. Support the synthesis of key findings and contribute to the team’s understanding of current research in the field.
• Mixed Reality Simulation Development: Support the development and implementation of mixed reality simulations. Contribute to the integration of new features, testing, and troubleshooting under the supervision of senior developers.
• Data Analysis and Interpretation: Collaborate with the research team to organize existing data as needed for analysis and interpretations. This may include data from surveys, simulations, and interviews.
