1 Converter Service Specialist - Technical Sales & Field Service (f/m/*) <br>WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES?<br><br>As a Converter Service Specialist (Technical Sales & Field Service) in our department Metallurgical Services (MS AT TI), you will be part of our growing Converter Services team - expanding Primetals Technologies' footprint in the global steelmaking market. You will act as both a technical expert and sales engineer: understanding customer needs, presenting our service solutions, and performing converter inspections, audits, and modernization activities on site. Your goal: turn technical know-how into customer value - by combining strong engineering expertise, hands-on field work, and proactive sales engagement.<br><br>Tasks and Responsibilities<br><br> * Serve as the primary technical and technical-sales contact for converterrelated services (inspection, modernization, process audits, lifecycle management)<br> * Conduct independent customer visits worldwide, presenting Primetals Technologies solutions and identifying new business opportunities<br> * Perform on-site services, including mechanical inspections, condition assessments, and converter fitness checks<br> * Prepare and coordinate technical offers for spare parts, inspections, and modernization projects<br> * Analyze inspection results and prepare professional technical reports<br> * Translate customer requirements into technical solutions and service concepts<br> * Support modernization and upgrade planning, including spare parts and maintenance strategies<br> * Cooperate closely with internal departments (engineering, sales, purchasing)<br> * Execute supplier inspections and provide technical supervision during installation and commissioning<br> * Prepare and deliver presentations and training sessions for internal teams and customers<br> * Contribute to knowledge sharing and development within the converter services network<br><br><br>WHAT DO I NEED TO QUALIFY FOR THIS JOB?<br><br> * Completed higher technical education (HTL/FH/University) in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or related field<br> * Several years of practical experience in converter operation, maintenance, or mechanical design - ideally from a steel plant environment<br> * Proven hands-on experience and readiness to perform on-site work (inspection, measurement, supervision, commissioning)<br> * Strong interest or proven experience in technical sales and customer relations<br> * Good understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems<br> * Basic knowledge of converter process and metallurgical principles advantageous<br> * Knowledge of AutoCAD, NX (Unigraphics), technical drawings<br> * Confident use of MS Office<br> * Very good English skills, written and spoken<br> * High willingness to travel internationally (approx. 20-30%)<br> * Proactive, communicative, and solution-oriented personality<br><br>On a personal level you convince us with your analytical mindset, strong commercial awareness, and effective negotiation skills, complemented by a hands-on mentality. You work independently, take ownership of your responsibilities, and represent Primetals Technologies with professionalism and confidence at customer sites.<br>WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?<br><br>The minimum annual gross salary for this position under the collective agreement and assuming that all requirements are met is EUR 47.546,94 (E/00).
