Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Duke Primary Care Arringdon

Duke Primary Care Arringdon offers exceptional, personalized medical care for patients aged six and older. With a close-knit team of five family physicians and skilled nursing staff, the clinic sees 60 to 70 patients daily, ensuring each visit is thorough and tailored to individual needs. From routine check-ups, immunizations, and sports physicals to managing chronic conditions like diabetes and asthma, the clinic is committed to promoting health and wellness at every stage of life. Location: 5601 Arringdon Park Drive: Suite 300, Morrisville, NC 27560

 

Hours: 8am – 5pm  

 

What you will do:

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed by the doctor and maintain records.
  • Provide direct care to patients under the supervision of a nurse or doctor.
  • Follow the doctor's orders and nursing care plan for patient care.
  • Report patient responses to care to a nurse for evaluation and adjustments to the care plan.
  • Assist other healthcare staff in delivering patient care.
  • Help doctors and nurses with diagnostic procedures.
  • Assess nursing care, patient responses, and prioritize nursing tasks.

 

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Help develop and implement policies to ensure patient comfort and safety and participate in creating new policies.
  • Contribute to maintaining the care environment, including equipment and supplies.
  • Identify and assist in improving clinical and operational performance.
  • Assist in managing supplies and equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the charge nurse.
  • Participate in training programs and help train new staff.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

 

 

What you will need:

Education

  • Work requires graduation from an approved or accredited Practical Nurse program.

 

Experience

  • No experience required.

 

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification

  • Current State of North Carolina LPN licensure is required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Ability to find resources independently and work well with others
  • Clear communication with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, and leadership; able to teach patients and families based on the care plan
  • Ability to process and prioritize information, treatment, and follow-up using sensory and cognitive functions
  • Competent in BLS and other required life support certifications
  • Proficient in fine motor skills
