About us:  

Come grow with us!  The Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC) located in Vinita, OK is a 24 hour/365 day secure inpatient forensic facility that provides jail competency services for the State of Oklahoma.  Currently, OFC has 268 beds for consumers who have been found Incompetent for adjudication or adjudicated as Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity.  OFC is expanding with construction scheduled to be completed in June 2025 adding an additional 84 beds.  When completed, OFC will have a total of 352 beds to house consumers   

About the Position: 

Here at the Oklahoma Forensic Center the Food Service department is hiring for a Food Service Specialist that would be assigned responsibilities at an inpatient behavioral health facility that may include, but are not limited to, handling, preparing, cooking, and serving food for regular, modified and special diets.  This includes maintaining clean and sanitary work, preparation and serving areas, doing inventory control, maintaining temperature logs and filling in where needed.

Job Type/Salary:  

• Open/Close dates: 3/17/2025-3/31/2025

• Full-time 

• Hourly payrate : $17.30/hr 

• $0.75/hr differentials when working weekends 

• Primary Working Hours are 7:00am-3:30pm 

• FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt 

• Primary Work Location/Department: Oklahoma Forensic Center, Vinita, Ok/ Food Service

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: 

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of two years of experience in a commercial or institutional food service or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of vocational or technical school training in food preparation for the required experience.

Special Requirements: 

• Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license. 

• Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds; 20 pounds frequently and able to push and pull a maximum force of 50 pounds.
