This Fall COOP Internship is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure and contribute to strategic discussions in a high growth organization that is radically changing the biotech industry. You will get a chance to work in a multidisciplinary setting to address key strategic questions at the program and portfolio level.
The Fall COOP, Commercial and Business Strategy will report to the Associate Director of Commercial and Business Strategy, and will be responsible for the identification, synthesis, and presentation of data needed for key business and strategic decisions across the organization including search and valuation projects and strategic direction of current programs and internal R&D engine. While doing so, he/she/they will have a chance to work with Biology, Chemistry, Legal, FP&A, Program Management, Corporate Development functions to get a full organizational picture.
Top level candidates will possess strong interest in disease opportunity assessments (i.e., finding patient numbers, forecasting, and market research) and exceptional skills in using/building models, and drafting PP slides.
In This Role, You’ll Get To:
-Integrate primary and secondary research to help advance strategic decision-making processes
- Support commercial and preliminary scientific assessment of potential development indications, in-licensing, and external partnerships
- Identify, contact, and help interview physicians and experts to allow for better understanding of indication dynamics
- Assess competitive landscape across portfolio therapeutic areas and synthesis of key findings
- Support search and valuation efforts and potential partnership and deal discussions
- Create presentations to clearly articulate findings and recommendations to managementRequirements
- Requires a BS/BA in life-science or highly quantitative discipline (e.g., biochemistry, engineering, biology, chemistry)
- Currently pursuing graduate education in Business, Life Sciences, or related discipline (e.g., economics, medicine)
- Broad-based scientific knowledge across human health therapeutic areas
- Superior Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Deep interest in exploring multiple aspects of the biotech industry pertaining to portfolio strategy and business development
- Interest in working and collaborating in a dynamic, cross-functional matrixed environment
- Strong teamwork, networking, organizational, administrative, and analytical skills
- Adaptability, Hands-on mentality, and attention to details
- Ability to think critically and creatively in a fast-paced environment
