Senior Cost Analyst

Reporting to the Cost Analytics Supervisor, you will perform detailed, comprehensive analyses of a prospective or current members’ category spend data, occasionally in more complex and/or large-scale analytical scenarios. You will develop, revise, and effectively communicate analytical summaries and strategies for the sales team to use when discussing the solution and/or results with the customer, occasionally interfacing directly with the customer to help communicate and answer questions related to the analysis.
Utilizing a variety of business intelligence and reporting tools, you will acquire, assimilate, and analyze data from multiple systems and data sources. You will also assist in the development of education, training, and documentation of the Cost Analytics process.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with the sales team, supplier analysts, vendors, and customers to capture and analyze data
- Interpret customer’s existing contracts to cross-reference current pricing and services to the applicable CoreTrust contract offering
- Complete analyses per customer’s specific needs and/or sales team’s requests
- Create category-specific summaries to easily illustrate savings opportunities
- Communicate key insights and findings in customer’s contracts and identify business opportunities
- Work with the sales team to measure pre-engagement estimated savings opportunity as well as the post engagement savings validations
- Become fluent in all categories that flow through the Cost Analytics department
- Learn new processes (manual and automated) to increase efficiencies across category portfolio
- Provide feedback to manager and/or cross-departmental analysts to enhance processes and tooling
- Assist in the development of documentation to lay out the process for completing analyses by category
- Lead analyst for complex and/or large-scale projects
- Assist manager with project management, enhancements to the Cost Analytics team’s functions and processes, and other ad-hoc requests
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years of work experience as a data, business, or financial analyst
- GPO knowledge preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Power BI, Power Query, Power Pivot, relational databases, SQL, and reporting tools preferred
- Strong organizational and process analysis skills
- Understand methodologies for performing financial and opportunity analysis of proposals
