THE JOB:
As a Food and Beverage Steward, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment and areas that have been assigned to you. You improve the guest experience through outstanding and efficient operational facilitation. Your duties will include, but are not limited to, loading and unloading the dishwasher, putting glassware away, transporting equipment, and sweeping & mopping floors.
THE STARTING PAY RATE: $22.221 / Per Hour
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Collect and wash pots and pans using a three-compartment sink or pot washer; break down, spray, load, and unload dishes, glassware, and flatware. Ensure all items are returned to their designated storage locations
Manage and replenish chemical detergents for dishwashers, pot washers, and other relevant dispensers
Clean baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables, and cutting boards; sweep and mop all floors, and wash floor mats. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, including dish machines, ice machines, pot washers, prep tables, hot boxes, refrigerators, and more
Sort and dispose of trash and garbage in designated containers, including handling biohazard clean-up when necessary
Oversee linen inventory and handle soiled linen removal
Transport equipment such as hot and cold boxes, speed racks, and push carts between hallways, kitchens, and various outlets across the property
Polish equipment as needed
Adhere to regulatory requirements and departmental policies, including compliance with SNHD, OSHA, Fire Department, and other relevant standards
Operate large electronic or gas-powered equipment, including ride-on floor scrubbers, pallet jacks, forklifts, trucks, and power washers
Complete required mandatory training, including health and safety courses, as stipulated by the company, department, or governing bodies (e.g., Health District)
Report any equipment issues to the direct supervisor
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Two (2) years of stewarding or comparable experience
Culinary Training Academy Certification
Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Food Handlers card
Must be able to lift, push, carry up to 50 pounds
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and all holidays
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Four (4) or more years of previous stewarding experience in a similar resort setting
Knowledgeable in the implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures regarding safety guidelines, proper chemical usage and handling of BIO-HAZARD materials
Working knowledge of basic kitchen equipment
Ability to be efficient, detail-oriented, flexible, and fast
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
Capable of standing and walking for a majority of the shift
