Program Requirements: 2027-2029, Administrative Fellowship

  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.
  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
    • Graduate program studies can remain in progress, at the time of application.
    • Graduate degree must be conferred between June 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027.

Program Overview

The Stanford Medicine Children’s Health Administrative Fellowship is a healthcare management development program that offers recent MHA, MPH, or MBA graduates learning opportunities in a pediatric academic medical center environment.

Over the course of the 24-month program, the Administrative Fellow will rotate through the hospital, ambulatory clinics, and finance and business development arena, allowing the fellow to build a portfolio of both operational and strategy-based work as well as enhance their leadership skills and thinking along the way. Some of the learning opportunities available to the fellow include:

  • Hospital & Outpatient Clinic Operations
  • Hospital Expansion & Activation Planning
  • Financial & Analytical Performance Analysis
  • Business Development & Planning
  • Strategic Planning & Marketing

The Administrative Fellow Program (AFP) is a paid, one-year post-graduate experience designed to give an individual exposure to children's healthcare leadership as well as provide an opportunity to apply skills and knowledge gained from graduate studies to practical experiences within the hospital.
