Facilities Technician - All Locations - Full Time

1. Build, construct and repair structural areas and equipment; work from blueprints, floor plans, drawings and oral instructions, (e.g. benches, wall mountings, floors, doors, framework, sheet rock, finish trim, carpet, etc.)
2. Make general purchases, initiate cost saving measures and perform preventive maintenance
3. Move, relocate and repair office furniture; maintain Co-op storage facilities; set up special events (e.g. case lot sale, special events, etc.)
4. Repair, clean and monitor roof maintenance. (e.g., drains, HVAC units, membranes, gutters, etc.)
5. Prepare written materials (e.g. supply requisitions, safety inspections, work orders, time sheets, mileage data, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or related activities to supervisor for action
6. Respond to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g. facility damage, power outage, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution

Required Skills/Experience and Attributes:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. Minimum of 5 years in an industry maintaining commercial buildings
3. General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, construction, HVAC, masonry and electrical
4. Must be able to lift up to 60lbs. comfortably on a regular basis
5. Must hold a valid driver’s license and be over the age of 18
6. The ability to read and follow directions and communicate clearly
7. Possess the skills necessary to generate written and/or oral reports
8. Ability to understand basic math using fractions, percents and/or ratios required to perform industrial cleaning solution mixtures and procedures
9. General computer knowledge including but not limited to standard office products such as email, document generation, and spread sheets
10. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and other documents required to perform building renovations
11. Must maintain a positive attitude with staff members, store managers and customers; respect and work well with managers and team members; participate willingly in departmental initiatives, ideas, and changes; show constant willingness to learn and improve
