Job Overview
The Sr. Accountant is key position in the Acute Care Therapies Finance team supporting businesses totaling USD 200M. The position works closely with the Manager Finance to ensure efficient and effective general ledger accounting and analysis to support the monthly, periodic and year-end financial closing and reporting process. The Sr. Accountant is responsible for ensuring compliance to Internal Control requirements, and also partners closely with Getinge Global/Group Finance and Accounting Management Teams and coordinate on reporting.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Manage the process of preparing journal entries for consolidation, analyzing all general ledger accounts, maintaining all related records, balance books, and preparing required Accounting reports.
- Partner with Shared Service function in Krakow, Poland to ensure compliance to month-end closing procedures, account analysis and work paper reconciliations.
- Own balance sheet and cash flow content for several US entities
- Strengthen internal control environment within several US legal entities, including improving the technical write-up of those controls, following up on control requirements, etc.
- Operate as the point of contact for annual external financial audits, such as PWC
- Review segregation of duties within the Getinge ERP system (and other critical systems)
- Maintain the fixed asset ledger and monitor capital project spending.
- Review final numbers for Cognos consolidation reporting.
- Work on projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting and/or combination of education and related experience is required.
- A minimum of 6 years of General Accounting experience is required, public accounting preferred.
- Proven experience working with internal controls required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience within depth account analysis and financial modeling.
- Technical Internal Controls writing and presentation skills required.
- Must demonstrate ability to exercise sound judgment, be well organized, take initiative, and be flexible.
- Must demonstrate ability to work well under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both employees and management and be able to help facilitate resolution of issues.
- Exemplary communication skills and organizational skills.
- Self-starter with great attention to detail and ability to work in fast paced environment and flexibility to adapt to change.
- Drive efficiency and demonstrate continuous improvement thinking.
- Technical experience includes SAP and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, and proficiency in Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

The base salary for this position is a minimum of $70,000 and maximum of $93,000 with an annual bonus of 8%
