About the role

About The Role:

Join Paysend to shape the future of a fintech brand trusted by over 11 million customers worldwide and help us build the world’s largest digital payments network to simplify money transfers for everyone.

As our Localisation Lead, you’ll own the end‑to‑end localisation strategy across product and editorial experiences in 20+ languages—championing in‑context translation in Figma, enabling rapid AI‑assisted workflows, and building a reliable network of native linguists and agencies to ensure quality at speed. You’ll need to be based in Europe and you’ll be part of our distributed Brand and Editorial team.

Recognized by Deloitte as one of the UK’s fastest-growing tech companies, we offer flexible work arrangements, career growth opportunities, and a culture that values inclusion, bold thinking, and meaningful design.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

Localisation Strategy and Governance:

  • Define a company‑wide localisation strategy covering product UI, lifecycle/CRM, web, help centre, and editorial; set KPIs (quality, speed, cost) and SLAs by content risk tier.
  • Build and maintain language quality frameworks (glossaries, style guides, tone of voice, reference corpora) aligned to brand guidelines.
  • Establish an in‑context localisation policy: every human translation must be done with full design context (Figma frames, states, screenshots, character limits).

Product and UX Localisation:

  • Drive in‑Figma localisation workflows with designers: manage component variants, truncation rules, and right‑to‑left/bi‑directional layouts; run pseudo‑loc to catch overflow early.
  • Ensure all product strings are localised in Figma and kept in sync with Lokalise databases; own redlines for text expansion and internationalisation constraints.

Editorial and Marketing Localisation:

  • Localise brand and editorial content with contextual nuance (headlines, CTAs, social copy, CRM) while preserving voice; adapt for cultural resonance, compliance, and channel format.
  • Partner with Brand & Editorial on message testing; use LQA feedback and performance data to iterate.

Vendors, Community and Talent Network:

  • Select and manage agencies; in parallel, build a network of native linguists for priority markets.
  • Create clear briefs with context packages (Figma links, screenshots, references) and enforce QA gates before release.

AI‑Assisted Localisation and Tooling:

  • Lead a pragmatic AI approach: use LLM/NMT pre‑translation for low‑risk copy, then route to human post‑edit; mandate human‑in‑the‑loop for high‑risk/legal content.
  • Operate Lokalise: configure workflows, translation memory, term bases, placeholders, ICU messages, and integrations (CI/CD, CMS); maintain clean key hygiene.
  • Build prompt/playbook libraries to scale tone, terminology, and format across languages.

Quality, Compliance and Metrics:

  • Run LQA cycles; instrument quality and cycle‑time dashboards; track bugs per locale and drive root‑cause fixes.
  • Ensure accessibility and inclusivity (WCAG basics, reading levels); support LTR/RTL, CJK, and scripts with diacritics; handle dates, currencies, pluralisation, and locale rules.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Brand and Editorial, SEO, Legal/Compliance, and Customer Support; communicate timelines, risks, and trade‑offs with pace and clarity.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful In This Role:

  • 5+ years in localisation management across both product and marketing/editorial, owning multi‑language programs at scale.
  • Proven experience running in‑context workflows in Figma and operating Lokalise (or similar) end‑to‑end.
  • Strong understanding of internationalisation (ICU messages, RTL/LTR, string constraints) and accessibility basics.
  • Ability to brief, evaluate, and coach linguists; excellent written English and editorial judgment.
  • Comfortable with AI‑assisted localisation and human post‑editing; data‑driven and organized; able to manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.

What Would Be a Plus:

  • Fluency in two or more additional languages.
  • Fintech/regulatory domain knowledge; experience localising legal/compliance copy.
  • Experience integrating TMS with design/CMS/CI p
