The Naval Power Office of the Chief Engineer at Raytheon is seeking a talented and experienced technical leader as Advanced Programs Production Execution Chief Engineer to join our team.

The AP Production Execution Chief Engineer (ECE) is the key technical executive responsible for overseeing the technical baseline and ensuring the successful execution of program technical objectives supporting the AP Production CE. ECEs typically have significant experience as subject matter experts, Integrated Product Team Leads, Cross Product Team Leads or Lead Systems Engineers. In this role, you will bring a wealth of knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure program execution. You will lead several cross-functional production teams that are responsible for the manufacturing and test of various hardware value streams. As technical leaders, Execution Chief Engineers work closely with the program chief engineer and program management to deliver on contracted program goals, ensuring the highest level of engineering performance and innovation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and shaping the execution and accountability of the production engineering teams. The selected candidate will be expected to provide technical oversight, align task priorities within the teams, and engage functional and business leadership on critical staffing needs. Specific goals for production success include increasing capacity and thruput as well as continuous improvement of yields and cost. In addition, the candidate will interface with customer leadership on a regular basis.

This position is a full-time, onsite role located in McKinney, TX with travel required to Tucson, AZ approximately one week per month.

What You Will Do

  • Co-own the technical data package for the Advanced Programs production products
  • Maintain fundamental Engineering infrastructure for Configuration Control Boards, Failure Review Boards, FRACAS activities and other continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the Program Leadership Team and other Functions to meet and/or exceed cost, schedule, and technical requirements
  • Provide technical leadership in addressing production constraints and act as technical point of contact with senior internal and external customer counterparts, operations program management and engineering leadership
  • Engage with the Program Chief Engineer to ensure alignment of production goals, communication of technical issues, escalation of urgent needs, etc.
  • Drive the technical dimensions for a critical production capacity growth strategy for the business, focusing on test optimization and expansion, yield improvement, proactive supplier technical engagement, etc.
  • Support the incremental integration of upgrades and improvements into the factory
  • Technically engage with major subcontractors and partners to ensure product deliverables
  • Business travel to Tucson, Arizona up to once per month to support hardware activities and program meetings

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum seven (7) years experience
  • Experience with design, integration, manufacture, and/or test of RF subsystems
  • Experience with design, integration, manufacture, and/or test of RF components
  • Experience interacting across engineering disciplines (e.g. Systems, Mechanical, SW, Algorithms, etc.) to drive critical thinking and problem solving
  • Experience in Risk and Opportunity management
