Job Description:

POSITION PURPOSE

The Director of Continuous Improvement & Quality Management is the owner of first-pass success and operational excellence within YESCO’s Production and Operations functions.

This role is responsible for continuously improving how work is performed while ensuring quality standards are consistently met “designed into processes, not inspected after failure.”

The Director builds, enforces, and evolves the systems that drive:

  • First-pass accuracy

  • Stable, repeatable production processes

  • Defect and rework elimination

  • Labor and cycle-time efficiency

  • Predictable, high-quality installation outcomes

This position operates as a neutral quality authority—not driven by production volume or schedule pressure—and serves as the enterprise voice for quality, discipline, and continuous improvement within Operations.

  • Lead non-conformance reporting and corrective action processes

  • Serve as final quality authority when operational quality is at risk

  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and waste-reduction methodologies to improve:

    • First-pass yield

    • Labor efficiency

    • Workflow stability

    • Production and installation cycle times

  • Analyze rework, defects, delays, and cost overruns to identify systemic root causes

  • Facilitate cross-functional problem solving and improvement events

  • Establish improvement roadmaps aligned with operational priorities

  • Ensure improvements are standardized, documented, trained, and sustained

Standard Work, SOPs & Process Ownership

  • Own and maintain operational standard work across Production and Installation

  • Develop and control:

    • SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)

    • Best practices

    • Visual standards

    • Work instructions

  • Ensure preconstruction, production, and installation handoffs meet defined readiness standards

  • Lead documentation governance, revision control, and compliance auditing

  • Partner with Operations and Production leadership to continuously improve process design

  • Track audit findings and enforce corrective and preventive action plans

  • Verify sustainability of improvements over time

Training, Coaching & Culture Development

  • Train supervisors and teams on:

    • Root-cause analysis

    • Standard work discipline

    • Continuous improvement tools

  • Coach operational leaders to shift from firefighting to system improvement

  • Build a culture of accountability, problem solving, and first-pass excellence
