About the role
Automotive Technician I Transdev in Sumter, SC is seeking an Auto Mechanic I to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining engines across various vehicles and equipment. As an Auto Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles. Transdev is proud to offer:
- Competitive compensation package of minimum $20.00 (41,600) – Maximum $25.00 (52,000)

- Perform repairs and replacements on gas & diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Assist in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize vehicle performance.
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for gas and diesel engines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks
- Other duties as required.
- 3 years of experience as an Automotive Mechanic.
- ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided
- Mechanic’s Tool Set
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed in a shop, work alone and in remote locations.
- Stand for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
- Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.).
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.
