Job Description
The Western Digital SSD Hardware Engineering group is looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to develop an automation platform and solutions for a hardware validation environment. This role is responsible for start to finish ownership and deployment of WW test automation. Will report to Director of SSD Hardware Validation.
- Improve operational efficiency through the development of an automation platform. Enable Python code re-use across tests, common libraries, and standardize coding style/guidelines.
- Automation to include GUI and control of lab equipment, software, data collection, post-processing, and reporting.
- Technically lead global automation working group, 2-3 engineers ensuring consistent capability at multiple sites.
- Build database for large data set analysis including characterization, trends, margin, and cross-product comparisons.
- Domestic and International travel as needed (~5%)
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Electrical Engineering or similar with 7+ years of experience, or MS in Computer Electrical Engineering or similar with 6+ years of experience.
- Highly skilled with scripting languages, including Python, and test automation
- Familiar with tools such as GitHub or similar.
- Preferred, knowledge of electronics and lab environment to better understand and recommend coding use-cases.
- Independent and can-do mindset.
- Excellent communication, both written and oral.
- Excellent collaboration skills. Attention to detail.
- Should be well organized and have the ability to be flexible in a changing work environment.
- Strong ability to break complex problems into pieces and develop and deploy a comprehensive action plan.
