A Registered Nurse (RN) in the Endoscopy Procedural Department at Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital provides direct patient care to patients undergoing Endoscopy procedures, including but not limited to EGD, upper and lower colonoscopies, ERCP, and EUS, following established standards, department guidelines and hospital policies and procedures. The RN will use their strong assessment and critical thinking skills to collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team in order to provide the best outcomes for each patient. This role plays an integral part in ensuring patient advocacy and safety.

A caregiver in this position works varying shifts between 7:00AM – 5:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
One year of RN experience in an endoscopy procedural room
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Ame
