Amazon is seeking a Senior Auditor to join our audit team supporting Worldwide Amazon Stores. Our primary mission is to perform independent and objective assessments of business processes, systems, and related controls with the goal of improving risk management, operations, security, compliance, and the overall system of internal controls.
As a Senior Auditor, you will lead the planning, scoping, execution, and reporting of audits based on identified risks. You will conduct operational audits across the Worldwide Amazon Stores businesses. You will work with business, technical, finance, and legal partners as you plan, execute, and report on the results of each internal audit. In this capacity, you will gain valuable exposure to many organizations, processes, and systems across Worldwide Amazon Stores businesses.
Up to 20% travel may be required, including international travel.
Key job responsibilities
In this position you will dive deep into the details of your audits to develop meaningful findings that help in communicating the risk to the business. You must be able to understand complex business processes and identify the full range of risks related to processes, regulatory compliance, organization, policy, and technology.
You should be comfortable interacting with business leaders and technical teams, have a business background and the ability to learn new technology concepts quickly. You should be able to translate both technical and non-technical risks into business issues. You should be able prioritize findings and recommendations and facilitate multiple stakeholders to agree on appropriate solutions and verify that risks are mitigated appropriately.
You must be comfortable performing as a individual contributor or teammate, and coaching auditors. You must be an excellent writer who can succinctly communicate complicated technical issues in business terms. You must be a strong project manager who can manage a team and conduct your own audits from beginning to end, often managing multiple projects at once.
Location flexibility available based on candidate experience and proximity to key stakeholders. Preferred locations include Seattle, WA and Arlington, VA.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Seattle, WA, USA
- BA/BS in accounting, finance, data science, computer science, business, engineering or related fields
- 5+ years of experience in Finance, Audit, Operations, Risk Management, Consulting/Advisory, Program/Project management or related functions
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA/CIA/CISA)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge in different databases (Oracle, MySQL and Redshift), and their data structure and elements to extract massive data and perform analysis
- Script or query through data analytics tools, such as, SQL Server, MySQL, ACL, etc.
- Working experience with a service-oriented architecture and cloud computing environments
- Understanding of information technology and experience in auditing information systems and controls
- Experience with working in the internet start-up culture with complexities and ambiguities
- Analytical and problem solving skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
