Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Cloud Computing Architect/Engineer will be responsible for managing the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission’s (MSLC) cloud architecture and position in cloud environments. The incumbent will play a strategic role in maintaining all cloud systems including the front-end platforms, servers, storage, and management network. The position will serve as the main point of contact for cloud service providers as well application developers that are developing and maintaining critical applications in the cloud environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaption process.
- Create policies and procedures for cloud operations including access and retention policies.
- Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software.
- Develop and organize cloud systems.
- Work closely with IT security to monitor the company's cloud privacy.
- Work closely with cloud vendors to ensure the security and resiliency of the cloud environment.
- Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the cloud.
- Identify the top cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the company.
- Perform other tasks, as assigned.
Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant field.
- 3-5+ years of experience designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification or higher.
- Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated cloud reports to management and other IT development partners.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Team player who works collaboratively with colleagues and contributes to a collegial work environment.
